LAST BLOOMS OF SUMMER

Hello friends!  Soon the snow will fly here in our portion of Canada so I want to share some of my last blooms of summer.  Many of our hardier flowers are still blooming despite the fact that we have had a couple of nights of frost.....we simply go out early and hose them down with cold water, to save them.  But each day now brings us closer to hard frosts, and we are actually expecting that to begin happening within the next few days.  I will miss the beautiful show of summer color but the Fall shades of the large Oaks that surround our area will be another bit of eye candy before the scenes of  shocking bright and white snow that will follow.  I hope you will enjoy a few of the flowers I am sharing here.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have enjoyed the flowers and our little family of stone ducks. Hugs, Gayle.

It's hard to believe that summer is over already, isn't it, Gayle? It just flew by! But autumn is so beautiful with the crisp, cool days and turquoise skies! Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous and look a whole lot better than mine do right now. :) You were born with a green thumb, girl! :)

Your flowers are gorgeous. We're slowly starting to feel a weather change here...very slowly. Fall is my favorite time of the year.

I'm happy to see summer leave, it's been a very hard one here in IL, high heat and drought! Your flowers are so very pretty which are looking a whole lot better than mine. Thanks for sharing your inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!

I can't believe you'll be getting snow soon! Isn't it sad to think everything will be done soon? Although, this time of year I'm ready to be done with all the gardening chores. Spring is much more enjoyable for me.

Great pictures!
