AUTUMN BOOK OF ARCHES

PLEASE CLICK IMAGES FOR LARGER DETAILED VIEW

I have recycled a children's 'fat-page book' to create this book. I covered each page with neutral-toned patterned 12x12 scrapbook paper. I affixed a hand-created Gothic Arch to each page and stamped each page with a variety of rubber stamps. I also embellished the pages with hand-made flowers created with petals from Prima.

I have created this wall hanging using a wooden clip board.  Graphics 45 imagery is complimented with lace trims.  I have embellished with grunge board flourishes painted with gold acrylics, and adorned with paper flowers from Martha Stewart Living.  I have selected taupe-toned ribbons attached to the board's clip.  Hugs, Gayle.

LAST BLOOMS OF SUMMER

Hello friends!  Soon the snow will fly here in our portion of Canada so I want to share some of my last blooms of summer.  Many of our hardier flowers are still blooming despite the fact that we have had a couple of nights of frost.....we simply go out early and hose them down with cold water, to save them.  But each day now brings us closer to hard frosts, and we are actually expecting that to begin happening within the next few days.  I will miss the beautiful show of summer color but the Fall shades of the large Oaks that surround our area will be another bit of eye candy before the scenes of  shocking bright and white snow that will follow.  I hope you will enjoy a few of the flowers I am sharing here.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have enjoyed the flowers and our little family of stone ducks. Hugs, Gayle.

Decorated storage cannisters created by recycling "Pringles Potato Chip" containers.  These are ideal for storing spaghetti, long-handled paint brushes, knitting needles, etc.  Fun to create and great for gift giving, filled with cookies or other treats.

RHYTHM & BLUES FRONT GARDEN THEME

PLEASE CLICK IMAGES FOR LARGER DETAILED VIEW
I am happy to share a new petunia called Rhythm & Blues.  I decided to adopt them for the front of our home this summer and took these photos in June.  I have not taken additonal photos but I am happy to report that they have almost doubled in size so it was a great choice.  They are easy to maintain and don't seem to need as much dead-heading as some of the other petunias I have in other areas of our home gardens.  I have included some other photos of our front gardens as well.  If you did not see the photos I took of our deck and the back of our home, you can view them by scrolling back a wee bit.  I have added a few pieces of statuary as well, and was so pleased to include a pretty pale pink toned tree peony bloom that has finally decided to bloom this year.  I planted it about 3 years ago.  This is also a new rose that I am sharing.  I hope you enjoy viewing the flowers and gardens shown here.  Our Canadian winter snows will be here within the next three months or so and although I love the beauty of the snow-laden trees and lawns, I will indeed miss the lovely colors of summer. I would love to hear about your summer gardens as well. Hugs,Gayle.
